You installed Queryra, clicked import, and now you're seeing pages or blog posts in your dashboard that you didn't expect. Maybe you only wanted products. Maybe you're wondering why pages showed up at all.

Don't worry — this is normal, and it's easy to manage. This guide explains what gets imported, how sync works, and how to make sure only the right content is searchable on your store.

What Gets Imported (And Why)

When you set up Queryra through the WordPress plugin, the setup wizard (Step 2) shows you exactly what will be sent to Queryra. Here's how it works:

Posts are always imported by default. If you run a blog alongside your store, your articles will be indexed so customers can find them through search.

Pages are optional — this setting is off by default. If you turn it on in the plugin's Content tab, your WordPress pages will also be imported.

WooCommerce products are managed separately in the plugin's WooCommerce tab. This is independent from posts and pages — you enable product import there.

The key thing to understand: importing sends your content to Queryra's servers, but it doesn't make it searchable yet. That happens in the next step — sync.

Import vs. Sync — They're Not the Same Thing

This is the most common point of confusion, so let's clear it up.

Import means sending your content (posts, pages, or products) from WordPress to Queryra. Think of it as uploading your catalog.

Sync is what happens on the Queryra side. When you click Sync in your Queryra Dashboard, the AI processes all your imported content — it reads your products, understands what they are, and prepares them so customers can find them using natural language.

Without sync, your content is stored but not yet searchable. After sync, a customer can type "gift for dad" and find the right products from your store.

The flow is: Import content from WordPress → Clean up in dashboard (if needed) → Sync so the AI can learn your catalog.

Don't Worry If Extra Posts or Pages Got Imported

Here's the good news: even if posts and pages got imported alongside your products, your shop search will still work correctly.

WordPress automatically adds filters when customers search your shop. For example, when someone searches on your WooCommerce shop page, WordPress tells Queryra to only return products (using a product type filter). So blog posts and pages won't appear in your product search results — WordPress handles this for you.

That said, it's still a good idea to clean up content you don't need. Unnecessary records count toward your plan's record limit, and keeping your dashboard tidy makes it easier to manage.

How to Clean Up Unwanted Content

If you see pages or posts in your Queryra dashboard that you don't want, removing them is simple:

  1. Log in to your Queryra Dashboard
  2. Browse your records — you'll see all imported content listed
  3. Delete any pages or posts you don't need
  4. Click Sync to update the AI with your cleaned-up catalog

That's it. The deleted records won't appear in search results and won't count toward your record limit.

Controlling What Gets Imported (Plugin Settings)

You can control exactly what the plugin imports from your WordPress site. There are two key tabs in the plugin settings:

Content Tab — Here you manage posts and pages. You can:
- Choose whether posts are imported
- Enable or disable page imports
- Turn on Auto Import — when enabled, every new post or page you publish is automatically sent to Queryra. No need to manually import each time.

WooCommerce Tab — Here you manage products. Enable this to import your WooCommerce product catalog. Product import is separate from post/page import, so you have full control over what goes where.

The setup wizard walks you through these options during installation, but you can change them anytime.

Auto Import — Keep Your Content Up to Date

If you want new content to be indexed automatically, enable Auto Import in the plugin's Content tab.

With Auto Import on, every time you publish or update a post, page, or product, it's automatically sent to Queryra. No manual steps needed.

This is especially useful for stores that frequently add new products or publish blog content. Your search results stay current without you having to think about it.

Remember: Auto Import handles the upload. You still need to run Sync in your Queryra Dashboard periodically so the AI can process any new content and make it searchable.

Quick Summary

  • Posts are imported by default. Pages are optional (off by default). Products are managed separately in the WooCommerce tab.
  • Import uploads content to Queryra. Sync is when the AI learns your content and makes it searchable.
  • WordPress adds filters automatically, so shop searches only show products — even if posts and pages are also indexed.
  • Clean up unwanted content in your Queryra Dashboard and hit Sync.
  • Enable Auto Import in the plugin settings to keep your content up to date automatically.
  • The setup wizard (Step 2) shows you exactly what will be sent before anything happens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will blog posts appear in my WooCommerce shop search?

No. WordPress automatically adds a product type filter when customers search your shop page. Even if posts and pages are indexed in Queryra, only products will appear in shop search results.

What's the difference between import and sync?

Import sends your content from WordPress to Queryra's servers. Sync is when the AI processes that content and makes it searchable. You need both: import first, then sync in your Queryra Dashboard.

How do I remove unwanted pages or posts from Queryra?

Log in to your Queryra Dashboard, find the records you want to remove, and delete them. Then click Sync to update the AI. The deleted content won't appear in search results.

What does Auto Import do?

When Auto Import is enabled in the plugin's Content tab, every new post, page, or product you publish is automatically sent to Queryra. You still need to run Sync periodically in your Queryra Dashboard so the AI can process new content.
